London Internship: National Army Museum

The National Army Museum is the leading authority on the British Army and its impact on society past and present. They seek to inspire, engage, and educate through their world class museum and collections. The museum houses galleries and collection over four floors and underwent major renovation in 2017. It is located in the fashionable Chelsea neighborhood of London and a short tube ride from the BYU Centre. Internships are available in COLLECTIONS, ARCHIVE, AND DIGITAL MARKETING. A COLLECTIONS intern would spend a substantial portion of their internships at the main collections store in Stevenage (just outside of London by short train ride). With MARKETING, the intern would be particularly involved in planning and promoting the Chelsea History Festival, The internships would be onsite with a supportive and friendly team. APPLY

London Internship: Brunel Tunnel Museum Internship

The Brunel Museum is an educational charity and tells the story of on of the world's great engineering dynasties. It celebrates The Thames Tunnel, the world's oldest underwater tunnel, first opened to the public in 1843. Brunel organized the world's first underground concert party here in 1827, and the museum celebrates and interprets music and theatre as well as engineering. The museum is open to the public for tours, exhibitions, concerts, family activities, school visits, and more. The intern would have scope to be involved in the types of activities that suit their interests/ goals and that support the museum. There are opportunities in areas such as: exhibition design, events, marketing, and communications. The internship will be 4 days a week. It will be hybrid but there is a need to be in the museum 2 days a week to interact with the public and the team.

London Internship: The William Morris Society

William Morris (24 March 1834- 3 October 1896) was a revolutionary force in Victorian Britain whose work dramatically changed the fashions and ideologies of the era. As a craftsman, designer, poet, printer, socialist, novelist, and environmentalist, Morris was not only influential in his own time, but his legacy remains alive and important today. An intern will get the chance to support a small team at Morris' historic house/ museum. The museum has 1300 items in its collection. The museum team hosts exhibitions and talks. It produces members' magazines (3 yearly) and academic journals (peer-reviewed, 2 yearly). Students can be involved in curation (assist the curator with cataloguing items, CRM system, high-level CMP), conservation (learn about environmental control), social media, contribute/ write for members' magazine, assist with academic journals, support monthly talks, and more.

London Internship: Fulham Palace Internship

Fulham Palace was the historic summer palace of the Bishops of London from 704 AD. Today, it is a unique historic house set in 13 acres of botanical garden on the river Thames next to Putney Bridge station. They have recently completed a three-year restoration project which has involved the conservation of the Tudor palace and development of new museum spaces and interpretation. The internship will involve supporting current offerings such as: primary school events, museum tours, and prepping resources for learning. The team will also work with the intern to develop independent projects in areas of interest. Interns can be reimbursed for travel up to £8/ day. This is a lovely historic palace with a friendly and engaging team. Likely 3-4 days a week in a beautiful setting.
