1998, Humanities, Minor in English
American Fork Library Director. I manage and run a public library.
I got my Master's Degree in Library and Information Science. I started working in a public library in 2013 and worked my way up in the profession.
I learned to be respectful, listen well, pay attention to current culture as well as the past, read critically, and how to write. Writing is perhaps the most valuable skill I could have. I am always writing; whether it's library policy, updates for shareholders, emails to local leaders, or grant applications. My ability to write has generally contributed to my progress in the workforce.
"Don't be afraid to choose Humanities- you can find ways to make a career doing something you love"
Many people who study the Humanities need another degree to do what they want most. I enjoyed my Master's Degree experience. Don't be afraid to choose Humanities- you can find ways to make a career doing something you love.
I read a lot, but never on the job. I'm too busy helping other people have access to books and information. I visit the library every time I'm on vacation, including in other countries!
